Road to Coronado

The Road to Coronado came about when a couple of individual musicians met in jazz lab band on a college campus. Shortly after meeting, the four friends decided to get together for an informal jazz jam at a house on Coronado street in Frisco, Tx. Pretty soon the friends realized that they had something special, something that they wanted to share with the community. With the addition of shows being added to the calendar the band began to create their own arrangements of popular jazz standards which in turn allowed them to create a fun, engaging, and even danceable experience for audiences. The core group of musicians in Road to Coronado consists of Chris Johansson on vibraphone, Cody Cantrell on electric bass, Omar Barradas on saxophone, Jackson Zemler on guitar and Will Murdock on drums and vocals. Road to Coronado creates a fun and engaging experience for its listeners by utilizing a fun and interactive app called “Next Song” which allows venue patrons to select the songs for each set by scanning QR codes! With well over 80 tunes known by the band ranging from jazz standards like “How High the Moon” to classic pop hits such as Bill Withers “Just the Two of Us” there surely is something for everyone.
